Afriquetoday.com has a new look. We have just launched a brand-new website for the Web TV and news media serving the francophone African diaspora in the United States, starting with Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia (the DMV). Faster, more beautiful and available in French and English, it brings live TV, replays and community news together in one place.
Why a new website?
Our ambition is simple: to become the reference francophone media for the African diaspora in the United States, and a media you can trust. That takes a platform to match: fast on a phone, clear, and built around what matters to you.
Why it matters for the diaspora
The African community in the DMV is large. According to a 2026 Prince George’s County report, that county alone is home to 61,443 African-born residents (read our article). Yet news about the community remains scattered and is not always available in French. A platform that speaks French, cites its sources and corrects its mistakes lets the diaspora stay informed, find each other and see itself represented.
What is new
- Live TV and replays of the Web TV, in one click.
- Diaspora news, with sources cited and clickable.
- Pages by country: find all our stories about Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana and all 54 African countries on the African news by country page.
- A website in French and English.
- Our trust commitment: read our editorial policy and our corrections policy.
